Home Cooking Equipment

This is just to give you a guideline as to what would best be needed.  Do not feel pressured to go out and buy all of this equipment.  This is merely a guideline.

  • 11 cup food processor (Cuisinart)
  • 3 or 5 speed hand mixer (Kitchen Aid) w/2 beaters
  • Vitamix high speed blender or Blend Tec
  • Rubbermaid glass food storage containers (See attached list)
  • 2-3 cutting boards – 1 for meat/fish, 1 for vegetables, 1 for baking (wood is preferable, but if using plastic, buy 3 different colors: red for meat/fish, green for produce and yellow for baking)
  • immersion blender (for creaming soups)
  • colander + small strainer
  • spice grinder
  • ginger grater
  • box grater
  • microplane
  • citrus zester
  • citrus reamer
  • small stainless steel basket steamer (optional)
  • 1 (10-12 inch diameter) skillet with cover (All-Clad is a good brand)
  • 1 (5 quart) pot with cover
  • 1 medium pot with cover
  • 1 small pot with cover
  • 2 baking pans (18 x 13 inches)
  • 1 stainless steel soup ladle
  • 2 wooden spoons
  • 1 rubber spatula
  • ladle and potato masher
  • meat mallet
  • 1 stainless steel offset spatula for flipping meat or fish
  • 1 wire whisk (small okay)
  • set of stainless steel, glass or plastic mixing bowls (various sizes)
  • salad spinner
  • instant read thermometer
  • pastry blender (if ordering desserts)
  • 1 pastry or vegetable brush (small)
  • 1 set of stainless steel dry measuring cups
  • 1 liquid measuring cup (4 cup)
  • 1 set of measuring spoons
  • spiralizer (Spirooli is a good brand)
  • kitchen sponges
  • steel wool pads (SOS)
  • nut bag (if ordering nut milk)
  • parchment paper
  • paper towels
  • pot holders/kitchen towels
  • manual can opener
  • vegetable peeler
  • kitchen shears
  • box of wooden toothpicks
  • 9-inch standard glass pie plate
